April 5

Sharing is caring!

But they were insistent, with loud voices asking that He be crucified. And their voices began to prevail. Luke 23:23 (NASB)

The noise was deafening. Evil chanting for blood. Wickedness waiting to devour the unblemished Lamb. The purity was too much for such depravity. It revealed too much of their sin, so the solution seemed to be death. Do away with Him who was Light on their darkness.

To darkness they sent Him. Flesh splitting nails into splintered wood. Gush of blood and water. Raised up for all to see the spectacle of dripping life. Great drops of life from Life. His life for mine. His life for yours.

Ears ringing as the crowd grows quiet with His final words. His Word is final. His Word exponentially greater than the wicked cry for blood. His blood satisfying any further need for my blood. He willing took what I deserve.

Let’s pray

Holy Father, we cry, not for Your blood again, but for Your life in us. We long to sit at Your feet and recognize You as Savior. Thank You for this opportunity. In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
