Peace

“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” Luke 2:14 (NASB)

When it washes over you, you will know. Until then you may not understand.

Let me explain. Stirrings of turmoil causing stress and strife serve to sever ties with the Spirit. Separation. Stress rising up decreases faith in the Savior. Have you been there? I have.

Peace wraps up a faith-filled relationship. It becomes a steady and sure footing; a foundation that cannot be shaken.

A man stood by the casket of his daughter, taken way too soon in his opinion. He knew peace in that moment. His only explanation, in the middle of the most horrific situation, he felt like God had his hand on his back, holding him up.

When God has your back, you have peace. When you know God has your back, there is peace. Take your eyes off Him and you may forget that peace is there waiting for you. Keeping your eyes on Him, knowing Him, knowing He has your back, peace is yours.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 (NASB)

Beyond any reasoning. No rational explanation. Until you experience it, you can’t know it. But when you know it, you know it. And there it is. Contentment. Satisfaction. Heart-saturated. Mind-satiated. Lungs-filled. Hand on your back security.

The gift of peace. The gift of Jesus.
