New Year, New You, New Opportunities

Sharing is caring!

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Colossians 3:1-2 NASB

In baptism, the beautiful display of the old person being submerged into water, dead to the old, then being raised, washed clean by the water, facing up toward the heavens, facing things above, facing a fresh new start as a new creation in Christ. Each time I witness a baptism, my soul wants to explode out of my chest for a new child of the King. For that one entering the water and being raised into a new life, they are following the example set by Jesus Christ. They are making a decision to follow His example.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 NASB

“Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26 NASB

The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 NASB

The new comes from one place. It isn’t something we do. It is something we seek, something we find when we seek. The new comes from the seeking. And it is continually fresh and new. Not just at the beginning of a new calendar. Not just at the rising of the sun. It is new, moment by moment and freshly provided by our Creator Who makes all things.

So in this moment, you have the opportunity being given to you by Him to choose Him. To seek Him as Lord and Master of your life. To lay aside the former things that keep you from Him. To begin fresh with Him.

I promise He is faithful. Are there struggles still? YES! Because we still reside in this fallen world full of strife and sin. But His faithfulness reaches beyond this world. The hope found in Him far surpasses the struggles we face.

I am praying you will make Him a priority today and everyday. You have a new year in front of you. You have new opportunities to meet with Him and serve Him. He has given you a new you as a new creation in Christ if you will only believe in Him.
